The Santaluz Club · San Diego

San Diego, 92127
Santaluz sits in the hills of San Diego next to Rancho Santa Fe and it's a family place at heart. Trails run through the open space between the homes, neighbors turn out for the summer fireworks on the Village Green and residents can join the club's Hacienda side for the pool, tennis and fitness without buying into golf.
What I walk buyers through first is the step up inside the gate, from the Casitas and Spanish Bungalows to the Davidson and Belsera homes to custom estates on big view lots. Verrazzano is part of Santaluz but it sits outside the guard gate, which a listing won't always make clear.
If Santaluz is on your list, call me at 858.914.0804.

The course is a private 18-hole championship layout by Rees Jones. Greg Muirhead, the lead designer at his firm, worked on it with him. It was laid out to follow the contours of the land, with native grasslands framing the holes and bent grass greens. Only golf members and their guests play it.
The clubhouse sits on a nine-acre site above the course and was built to look like an old California ranch house. It has 35,000 square feet inside and another 5,000 of covered patio. The main dining rooms, the golf shop and the Spa at Santaluz are all here. The men's and women's locker rooms have steam, sauna and whirlpool. The Vineyard Room looks out over the Santaluz vineyard and the Library can be booked for a private dinner of up to 16.
The Hacienda is the second clubhouse, 19,000 square feet on the 11-acre Village Green. Its pool has a zero-entry end, a kids' splash area and 25-meter lap lanes. The club keeps it at 83 degrees year round. There are six lighted courts with pickleball on two of them. Beyond the pool and courts there's a fitness center, a studio for spin, TRX and Pilates reformer, an indoor basketball court and The Bistro. Camp Santaluz runs out of the Hacienda for members' kids from 4 to 12.
These numbers come from the MLS, pulled on Sunday, October 25, 2026. The sales cover October 26, 2025 through October 25, 2026 and we refresh them every month.

Sold in the last twelve months: 34 homes. The median sale was $3,182,500, or $799 a square foot. Prices ran from $2,225,000 to $7,500,000 and the median time on market was 22 days. The homes that sold ranged from about 2,200 to over 9,200 square feet with three to six bedrooms. All were built between 2002 and 2015.
Split by size, the two look like this:
On the market today: 13 homes for sale, plus 4 more already under contract. Nine of the 13 are 5,000 square feet or more, with a median asking price of $8,995,000. The other four have a median asking price of $2,672,500. Across all 13 the median asking price is $7,999,000, or $1,009 a square foot. They've been listed for a median of 73 days. Asking prices run from $2,376,000 to $11,800,000.
Most of what's for sale right now is the larger custom homes, which pulls the asking median well above what homes have sold for.
Figures: Irons & Estates analysis of MLS data, October 25, 2026. Days on market leave out four sales that were entered into the MLS after they had already closed. We set the 5,000-square-foot split. Not a guarantee of value; ask us for the homes behind any number. Prepared by AJ Powers, Broker/Owner, Irons & Estates (DRE #01856860).
The Santaluz Club offers six kinds of membership and describes its memberships as 50% equity. A Golf membership covers the course and everything else the club offers. Clubhouse & Spa members get the clubhouse dining, the spa and the Hacienda. Hacienda membership is for Santaluz residents only. Corporate memberships cover two or three designees and their families. The designees can be changed each year. The club also offers a Young Executive membership and a National membership. The fee sheet marks the National membership as non-equity.
The fee sheet doesn't price the Young Executive membership. Ask the club for it.

Two community associations run Santaluz. The club is separate from both. The Santaluz Maintenance Association looks after the gatehouses, streets, trails, parks and common landscaping and enforces the community's rules. The Santaluz Community Council runs the events on the Village Green, including the Summer Celebration and fireworks.
Most of the homes come from a handful of collections and buyers tend to step up through them inside the gate: the single-story Casitas and the Spanish Bungalows and Garden Homes, then the Davidson, Belsera and Hacienda Sur homes, then the Posadas at about 4,800 to 5,500 square feet and the custom estates. The Sentinels, built by Baywood, sit up on the ridgelines for the views. Custom homes start around 5,000 square feet on lots of about half an acre to almost three acres. Many of the custom lots are circular so the home can face the best view. Verrazzano, built by Shea Homes in three neighborhoods, is part of Santaluz but sits outside the guard gate.
Before you write an offer we pull the association documents for that specific home, including the current dues, the budget and reserves and the rules. Dues on a listing sheet are typed in by the listing agent and are often out of date.
Santaluz homes are in the Poway Unified School District. Schools are set by address, so we confirm them for each home before you write an offer.
Both gates are off Camino Del Sur, about two and a half miles north of the 56. The North Gate can also be reached from San Dieguito Road. By the community's own estimate the beaches of Del Mar and La Jolla are about 15 minutes west. Downtown San Diego is about 20 miles away and both San Diego International and McClellan-Palomar airports are under 30 miles. The Santaluz Club is at 8170 Caminito Santaluz East.
